Fiido Nomads Pro: a 100 Nm touring e-bike built for 225 km adventures

This post is also available in: Français

The Fiido Nomads Pro is a trekking e-bike designed around a 250W mid-drive motor with 100 Nm of torque, 29-inch wheels and a 120 mm air fork. Its standard 417.6Wh battery is rated for up to 75 km, while an unusual rack carrying two additional packs raises Fiido’s current claim to 225 km.

The Pro is more than a battery update. It replaces the original Nomads’ rear hub motor with a centrally mounted drive and adds four-piston hydraulic brakes, a Shimano CUES nine-speed drivetrain and stronger climbing capability.

Mid-drive power for touring

A mid-drive applies power through the bicycle’s gears, helping the motor stay in a useful cadence on hills. Fiido specifies 100 Nm from a road-legal European 250W system, controlled by a torque sensor for assistance proportional to pedal effort.

The 120 mm air fork can be adjusted for load and terrain, while 29 x 2.1-inch tyres favour efficient mixed-surface touring. Four-piston hydraulic brakes are a meaningful upgrade for a loaded bicycle on long descents.

One battery or three

The down-tube battery stores 417.6Wh and is removable. The standard official range is 75 km. Fiido’s extended kit adds two identical batteries on a patented rear rack, bringing total nominal capacity to 1,252.8Wh and the current claim to 225 km.

This corrects the older 238 km figure carried over from early material. Even 225 km remains a favourable test result. Touring range changes with elevation, wind, luggage, tyre pressure, temperature and assistance level. Carrying two extra packs also raises weight and occupies rack space.

Pricing and first independent testing

Fiido lists the standard Nomads Pro at €1,999 and the extended version at €2,699. The latter includes two extra batteries, bags and the battery rack. Delivery estimates were still several weeks in some regions when checked.

Netzwelt’s early hands-on review praised the bike’s motor, riding quality and overall improvement, while identifying a caveat in the ownership proposition. Because the model is new, buyers should examine local servicing and spare-battery support alongside the attractive hardware.

A credible long-distance platform

The Nomads Pro’s mid-drive, gearing, brakes and fork make sense even without the extreme battery kit. Riders planning multi-day trips gain the option of swapping packs rather than waiting to recharge one large integrated battery.

In France, the standard configuration remains an electrically assisted bicycle only while assistance requires pedalling, nominal motor power is 250W and support stops at 25 km/h. Speed unlocking changes the legal category and should not be treated as a harmless app setting.
