The WeCreat Vision is designed to make laser engraving less intimidating. It combines a fully enclosed chassis with a motorized auto-lifting system that adjusts the machine height for the material, removing one of the most common manual setup steps. The Vision is available with 20W or 40W diode laser modules, a top-mounted camera and a working speed of up to 600 mm/s. The official US store listed the 20W Basic Pack at $1,149.99 when this article was checked.
This is not simply a specification-sheet concept. Tom’s Hardware tested the 20W version and awarded it an Editor’s Choice recommendation, praising its polished workflow, large work area and cutting performance. That independent experience makes the Vision easier to assess than many newly announced desktop lasers.
Automatic focus without a separate riser base
The Vision’s defining feature is its vertically moving enclosure. Instead of placing the laser on a stack of risers for a thicker object, the machine automatically raises its upper body and focuses on the workpiece. WeCreat supports materials from thin sheets to objects up to 100 mm tall with the laser beds fitted, or 140 mm with the beds removed.
The normal engraving area is 420 x 290 mm, while the machine accepts material sheets up to 475 x 318 mm. A top-mounted HD camera displays the workpiece inside WeCreat MakeIt, helping users position artwork before starting. This visual workflow reduces wasted material, although camera calibration and the shape of unusually tall objects can still influence placement accuracy.

Price and available packs
The official US store listed the Vision 20W Basic Pack at $1,149.99 and the 40W Basic Pack at $1,699.99 when this article was verified. Those packs include the machine, camera, laser beds and air assist. Promotional pricing and availability can change quickly.
Adding accessories increases the budget substantially. Rotary packs add the multi-position rotary system, CleanAir packs include fume extraction, and the larger bundles can include the 2W infrared module and pass-through conveyor. It is worth choosing a pack around real projects rather than buying every accessory immediately. A wood sign maker and a business personalizing metal jewellery do not need the same laser head.
Software and real-world use
WeCreat provides MakeIt for Windows, macOS and mobile devices. It combines camera positioning, material presets and basic design tools. The official product page now also lists LightBurn compatibility, an important change from the Vision’s original launch period when full LightBurn support was not yet ready.
Tom’s Hardware found the 20W Vision simple and fast, with successful cuts through 5 mm basswood and thin acrylic, plus clean engraving on coated tumblers and slate. The reviewer considered the AI image mode less useful, but praised the integrated bed, camera preview and complete enclosure. The auto-lifting system also worked on thicker objects without changing the basic workflow.
Laser safety and ventilation
A Class 1 enclosure greatly reduces exposure risk during normal operation, but it does not make the process fireproof or eliminate hazardous smoke. Never bypass the lid interlocks, and never leave a laser cutting job unattended. Connect the exhaust hose to a suitable outdoor vent or correctly sized filtration system.
Material choice is equally important. PVC and other chlorinated plastics must not be laser cut because they can release toxic, corrosive gases. Unknown plastics, treated woods and composite boards should be identified before use. Follow local workplace and product-safety rules if the Vision is operated commercially.
Is the WeCreat Vision worth considering?
The Vision makes a convincing case for beginners and small creative businesses. Its enclosure, camera, integrated air assist and auto-lifting mechanism remove several frustrations associated with open-frame diode lasers. Independent testing confirms that the 20W version can deliver good cuts and engraving quality rather than merely promising them.
The compromises are cost and ecosystem expansion. A complete package with rotary work, filtration, infrared marking and conveyor support becomes expensive, and a 20W or 40W diode still differs from a CO2 laser in speed and material compatibility. For someone prioritizing an approachable, enclosed workflow over the lowest possible purchase price, however, the WeCreat Vision remains a strong and well-tested option.
