The Anycubic Kobra S1 Max Combo scales the enclosed Kobra S1 concept up to a 350 x 350 x 350 mm build volume. It combines CoreXY motion, a 65 C actively heated chamber and the ACE 2 Pro filament system, with launch pricing from $899 for the four-color bundle.
This is primarily a large-format machine rather than a simple color upgrade. Its heated enclosure and 350 C hotend target technical materials, while the expandable color system is intended for display models and automated spool switching.

A 350 mm enclosed CoreXY
The cubic build area can accommodate helmets, props and large functional parts without splitting them into sections. Anycubic specifies a recommended printing speed around 300 mm/s and a maximum travel or short-segment speed of 600 mm/s. The maximum figure is not a realistic average for every model.
The enclosure matters more than the headline speed. A chamber regulated up to 65 C, a 120 C spring-steel PEI bed and a 350 C hotend provide the thermal range needed for ABS, ASA, polycarbonate, nylon and selected fiber-filled filaments. Adequate filtration and room ventilation are still necessary when printing materials that release fumes.
ACE 2 Pro and the path to 16 colors
The basic Combo includes one ACE 2 Pro with four spool positions. It can dry filament at up to 65 C while feeding the printer and automatically switch to another spool when configured correctly.
Anycubic advertises expansion to 16 colors, but this is not achieved by the base package alone. The current official store describes a network of additional ACE 2 Pro units and dedicated eight-color and two-color hubs. Buyers should check the exact bundle contents, because ACE modules, hubs and cables are separate parts of the expanded system.
Color printing also creates purge waste and extends production time. On large decorative models, careful flushing volumes and material pairing are as important as the number of available colors.

Setup, monitoring and software
LeviQ 3.0 handles automatic bed calibration, while the quick-change hardened-steel nozzle is designed to simplify diameter changes. Anycubic supplies 0.4 and 0.6 mm options with the machine in some markets, with other sizes sold separately.
A 720p camera supports remote viewing, time-lapses and automated fault alerts. These detection features can help, but they should not be treated as a substitute for supervising the first layer or maintaining the hotend and feeder.
Anycubic Slicer Next provides material profiles and remote management through the Anycubic app. Ethernet and local-network operation are useful additions for workshops that do not want every job to depend on cloud access.





Is the Kobra S1 Max Combo a convincing package?
On paper, the Kobra S1 Max Combo brings together three valuable features: a genuinely large build area, controlled chamber heat and optional multicolor automation. The independent analysis available around launch was encouraging, but long prints place much greater demands on bed consistency, filament handling and motion reliability than small benchmarks.
The $899 launch price made the four-color package particularly competitive. A full 16-color setup costs much more and adds complexity, so most buyers should decide first whether they need extra colors, automatic spool backup or simply the large heated printer.
