The QIDI Q2C takes most of the Q2 platform and removes its active chamber heater. It retains a 270 x 270 x 256 mm build volume, a 370 C hotend, CoreXY motion and QIDI Box compatibility, while targeting a launch price around $399.
That trade-off is easy to understand. PLA and PETG users rarely need a chamber regulated at 65 C, while buyers focused on large ABS, ASA or nylon parts have a reason to pay more for the standard Q2.

Familiar mechanics, passive enclosure
The enclosed frame measures roughly 402 x 438 x 494 mm. QIDI uses an X-axis linear rail, independent Z motors and 1.5GT belts, with nozzle-contact probing for automatic bed calibration. Using the nozzle as the sensor removes the positional offset of a separate probe.
The key difference is thermal. Heat from the 120 C bed remains inside the enclosure, but the air is not actively heated or regulated. This can still help small ABS parts, although large engineering-material prints are less predictable than in the Q2’s controlled chamber.
The camera and filtration hardware can also depend on the package and country. Buyers should compare the actual box contents rather than assuming every Q2 accessory is standard on the Q2C.
370 C hotend and 600 mm/s headline speed
The direct-drive extruder uses hardened dual gears and a bimetal nozzle rated to 370 C. That specification provides temperature headroom for technical filaments, but nozzle temperature alone does not make every material easy to print. Chamber conditions, drying and ventilation remain essential.
QIDI quotes speeds up to 600 mm/s and acceleration up to 20,000 mm/s². The manufacturer’s own speed guide correctly treats 600 mm/s as a maximum, not a guaranteed average. Flow rate, layer cooling and model geometry determine how much of a real print can approach it.

QIDI Box, software and price
The filament cutter and QIDI Box support are retained. The Combo pairs the printer with a four-spool feeder for color work, soluble supports or automatic spool backup. Multicolor printing adds purge time and waste, so the system is not automatically useful for every part.
QIDI Studio prepares jobs, while Fluidd exposes Klipper controls on the local network. That local interface is valuable when cloud-independent operation matters.
The Q2C launched at about $399 and later appeared closer to $379 during official promotions. The Combo has been listed around $529. Since the price gap to the Q2 can narrow during sales, technical-material users should compare both at the time of purchase.





Is the Q2C the better-value Q2?
For PLA and PETG, the Q2C preserves most of the useful hardware and reduces the entry price. A practical owner report also suggests that it can deliver strong results once profiles and expectations are set correctly, although a single community account is not a laboratory reliability test.
The standard Q2 remains the more coherent choice for frequent ASA, nylon or polycarbonate work. The Q2C is best viewed as a fast, enclosed general-purpose CoreXY with optional multicolor, not as a low-cost substitute for every heated-chamber workflow.
