Bambu Lab pushes multicolour printing even further with a machine unlike any other in its range: the Bambu Lab H2C, launched on 18 November 2025 from around €2,249 for the AMS combo in Europe. Its idea looks compelling on paper: instead of purging filament at every colour change, it includes six interchangeable hotends and a seventh as backup, to print up to seven materials at the same time without the usual waste. It addresses the biggest frustration of multicolour printing, and it certainly makes you want to see more.
Multicolour printing at Bambu Lab has been familiar since the AMS, but it has one well-known drawback: purging. With each colour change, the machine ejects material to clean the nozzle, creating the famous filament “poops” and increasing printing time. The H2C tackles this issue head-on with a new mechanical approach. Let’s see what the manufacturer announces.

A new multi-hotend architecture
The heart of the H2C is its system of six interchangeable contactless hotends, each able to take a different material. Instead of purging, the machine physically changes hotends, which in theory eliminates transition waste. This brings the count to seven simultaneous materials, six colours plus a seventh for support or an additional shade, and up to 24 filaments when paired with AMS units. All of this comes in a 325 x 320 x 325 mm build volume with a textured PEI build plate.
Announced technical specifications
Bambu Lab clearly positions the H2C as a high-end model, and the specification sheet follows suit.
Six interchangeable hotends without purging: this is the headline feature. By changing hotends rather than purging, the machine promises clean multicolour printing with much less material wasted on prints with several shades.
The Hotend Remembers function: the H2C remembers previous assignments and proposes reusing an already configured hotend, avoiding cleaning cycles when fewer than seven filaments are used in a job.
10 kg PMSM servo extruder: even stronger than the one on the P2S, it targets perfectly controlled flow and clog prevention, even at high speed.
Vision Encoder: this motion-control system claims accuracy below 50 micrometres, enough to take care of demanding parts and precise assemblies.
350 °C nozzle and 65 °C heated chamber: like the H2 series, it targets technical and fibre-filled materials in addition to common filaments, making it a versatile machine beyond colour alone.

Price and options
On price, the H2C is firmly positioned at the high end: the AMS combo is announced at around €2,249 in Europe, 14,999 yuan in China. Bambu Lab also offers laser versions, with a Laser Full Combo 10 W at around €2,799 and a 40 W variant at around €3,349. At launch, availability was planned first in Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and China, while the price for the United States remained to be specified. It is an investment, but one clearly aimed at users with the strongest appetite for colour.
Software and ecosystem
The H2C remains in the Bambu Studio universe, which will need to manage colour assignment to the different hotends and make use of the memory function. Remote control, camera monitoring and the AMS ecosystem complete the package, while laser versions add engraving and cutting through the brand’s software. On a machine this feature-rich, slicer quality will be decisive in actually using all seven materials without making life more complicated.





So, is this Bambu Lab H2C interesting?
On paper, the H2C is one of the most ambitious multicolour proposals of the moment: seven materials without purging, a very powerful servo extruder, claimed accuracy below 50 µm and the versatility of the H2 series. For anyone making many multicolour parts and tired of wasting filament, it answers exactly the right question.
It still needs to prove all this in use, because the long-term mechanical reliability of the six hotends, the real saving in time and material compared with a conventional AMS, and preparation simplicity are things a specification sheet alone cannot settle. I hope to have the opportunity to test it one day. In the meantime, on paper, Bambu Lab has created a machine that genuinely rethinks multicolour printing.
