After the H2D and its dual-nozzle workshop, Bambu Lab completes its large-format range with a more accessible version: the Bambu Lab H2S, announced in late October 2025 from $1,249. The idea is simple: take the large chassis of the H2 series, keep the big build volume and speed, but move to a single nozzle to lower the price. On paper, it is the machine for anyone who wants fast large-scale printing without necessarily paying for the complexity of dual nozzles.
Where the H2D targets those who want to do everything, two-colour printing with dual nozzles, laser work and cutting, the H2S takes a more direct approach: a large classic FDM printer, designed for volume and throughput. It retains the XXL format of the series and packages it in a clearer proposition. Let’s see what Bambu Lab announces.

A large build volume designed for throughput
The H2S’s first argument is its size. With a 340 x 320 x 340 mm build volume, it offers around 120% more space than an X1C, enough to print large one-piece parts or fill the bed with numerous objects. Bambu Lab claims speeds up to 1,000 mm/s with 20,000 mm/s² acceleration, around 30% faster than the X1C. In other words, it is a machine that targets both large and fast printing, a combination that is not so common at this price.

The specification sheet highlighted by the manufacturer centres on robustness and monitoring.
350 °C hotend and 65 °C heated chamber: this combination opens the door to technical and fibre-filled materials, PA, PC, PPS and PET, where a machine without an active chamber struggles to maintain temperature. The announced list is very broad, from PLA to reinforced composites.
Speed up to 1,000 mm/s: paired with high acceleration, it should make it possible to produce large parts without spending all day on them, a key point when using such a large build volume.
23 sensors and 3 cameras: this network feeds an AI monitoring system intended to detect defects and anticipate printing failures, useful on long jobs where an error costs a lot in material and time.
Active motor-noise reduction: Bambu Lab claims operation below 50 dB thanks to active compensation, a real advantage if the machine shares a living space or office.
Simplified single nozzle: by giving up the H2D’s dual nozzle, the H2S targets simpler mechanics and a contained price while retaining the platform’s other strengths.

Price and options
On price, the H2S is announced from $1,249 for the basic single-nozzle version. Bambu Lab then offers an AMS 2 Pro combo at around $1,499 to unlock multicolour printing and spool drying, followed by a Laser Full Combo 10 W version at around $2,099 which adds engraving, cutting and drawing. Large format without breaking the bank, or a complete workshop: it is up to you to set the level according to your needs.
Software and ecosystem
Like the rest of the range, the H2S relies on Bambu Studio and the brand’s app for preparation, remote launch and monitoring through the camera. The laser combo also opens up engraving and cutting with the brand’s dedicated software. For anyone who already owns a Bambu Lab machine, getting started should remain familiar, which matters when moving to such a large build volume.





So, is this Bambu Lab H2S interesting?
On paper, the H2S answers a clear demand: fast large-format printing, with a heated chamber and serious monitoring, without paying for the H2D’s dual nozzle. For anyone who often prints large technical parts or wants to produce at volume, its starting price seems rather reasonable given its dimensions and claimed speed.
It still needs to prove all this in use, because chamber temperature stability over very long prints, the reliability of the large bed and the actual relevance of AI monitoring are things a specification sheet alone cannot settle. I hope to have the opportunity to test it one day. In the meantime, on paper, Bambu Lab makes its large format much more accessible.
